Muslims believe in the 5 pillars of Islam, which are: belief in one God and Muhammad is his Prophet, praying 5 times a day towards Kaaba (east), giving charity to those in need, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and doing pilgrimage if you can. There are two holidays: Eid al fitr, which is the day after the month of Ramadan ending fasting, and Eid adha, where Muslim men slaughter a lamb to commemorate the sacrifice of Ishmael by Abraham. Christians believe that there is one God and that Jesus was his son. He came down to Earth to take the sins of his believers, and He died on the cross for them. They believe that on the third day of his death, he rose again and went to his people. He performed many miracles and healed the helpless. Christians practice holidays like Christmas, to celebrate the birth of Jesus, Easter, to celebrate his resurrection, and Pass Over, which is the night before Jesus was killed on the cross. Most Christians attend church, but you don't have to attend to be a believer. They believe in the Bible, that is is the word of God, and follow it in their daily lives. |
